The Alhama de Murcia City Council will subsidise taxi fares between the centre and five outlying districts
As the summer season kicks into high gear, the City Council of Alhama de Murcia has greatly improved its transport system by restoring taxi journeys between the centre and the five outlying districts.
Moreover, the local administration has agreed to subsidise 50% of each and every trip.
The City Council has established contracts with different local taxi drivers to provide the service, which it hopes will benefit in particular residents who don’t have their own vehicle, the elderly, people with mobility difficulties and other vulnerable groups.
How to book a taxi
Telephone to request a taxi: 662 864 022
The trips will be made directly from the point of pick-up to the destination, without any stops in between.
Customers who wish to use the service must call the taxi switchboard in their district, which will pass them on to the corresponding taxi driver.
If the first taxi driver cannot attend the service, the switchboard will contact the next one and so on.
The council finances 50% of the service. At the end of the trip, the customer must sign a receipt and pay the remaining half of the taxi fare to the driver.
