ARCHIVED - Alhama offers tax rebates of up to 90 per cent to install solar panels
ARCHIVED ARTICLE Homeowners wishing to become more energy efficient can get a tax reduction of almost 100% when they put solar panels on their house
The Town Council of
Alhama de Murcia soon hopes to be able to offer a 90% tax rebate for the installation of solar panels on homes to help residents cut their energy bills and to reduce the harmful impact of burning fossil fuels on the environment.
Specifically, once the procedures of public exhibition have been passed, the modification of the general ordinance regulating the Construction, Installations and Works Tax (ICIO) will come into force, which allows a rebate of up to 90% of this tax in homes and 60% in industries.
Alhama’s Councillor for Town Planning, Antonio José Caja, has explained that “the aim of this measure is to promote and facilitate the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roofs of homes and also on industrial, agricultural and livestock buildings and farms.”
The application of this rebate will be conditional on the installations for heat production including connectors that have the corresponding approval from the competent administration. This will be approved on a case-by-case basis by the Local Government Board and must be requested prior to, or at the same time as, the planning permission or responsible declaration.
In order to benefit from this tax rebate, you need to present:
- The budget for the work, containing a justified breakdown of the cost of implementing such systems for generating electricity with solar energy
- A certificate from the authorised installation company carrying out the work that ensures that the solar panels have the corresponding registration with the Regional Government in Murcia (CARM)
