Alhama de Murcia cools off with fans in Plaza de Abastos
The high-powered equipment will battle the heat in the Alhama food market
With the temperatures in the Region of Murcia tipped to hit 40ºC again this week, the Alhama de Murcia City Council is doing its bit to beat the heat and provide a cooler environment for both shoppers and store owners.
The Plaza de Abastos, the municipality’s main covered food market, has been decked out with twelve high-powered fans placed strategically around the square to guarantee uniform air flow and combat the scorching weather.
The cooling systems, which are made by the Orbegozo brand and are WF0168 models, come following requests from the in-house merchants but will also create a much more pleasant experience for customers.
The initiative has been managed by the Alhama de Murcia City Council itself, with the aim of improving the well-being of both local merchants and Alhameños and visitors who frequent the Plaza de Abastos. The investment for the acquisition and placement of the fans has been covered entirely by the City Council.
With this initiative, the Alhama de Murcia City Council reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of the municipality and its willingness to implement solutions that generate a positive impact on the lives of residents and on local economic dynamics.
