El Rincón, a bar-restaurant outside the food market on Calle San Lázaro, almost opposite the tourist information office in the centre of Alhama de Murcia, is well known among locals for its wide range of tasty tapas and traditional dishes, especially seafood. Much of the food is purchased direct from the market traders, and the ambience is usually lively as hungry shoppers treat themselves to a well-deserved snack!
There is room for only 30 people inside but the outdoor terrace is a popular option all year round, as visitors enjoy the specialities which include “marineras” (a round breadstick with Russian salad and an anchovy on top), grilled vegetables and seasonal dishes, as well as a range of seafood.
Wi-fi is not available, but credit card payments are accepted.
Bar El Rincón is open every day from 7.00 to 16.00, and on Friday and Saturday evenings from 20.00 to midnight, but closes every year from 15th August to 5th September.
