Agents of the Local Police of Alhama de Murcia have detained the alleged perpetrators of graffiti that appeared in different parts of the town in the early hours of Sunday morning, including ofensive comments against the institution of the church itself painted on the main door of the parroquial church of San Lázaro.
Several sites in the urban area of the town were daubed with graffiti in the early hours of Sunday morning and by 08:00 officers investigating the incidents, had located two young men, aged 20 and 18, with spots of graffiti paint on their clothing and carrying spray paints which matched that used in the incidents.
The 17th century church of San Lázaro has a BIC cultural interest classification, so the two youths will face prosection for an alleged crime against historical heritage and another against religious sentiments.
