ARCHIVED - Sunday 8th March; free 2km family route in the Las Salinas regional park
This free route is in San Pedro del Pinatar and targets a family audience
Route name: Vida en el mundo de la sal
The Salinas natural park revolves around the salt pans from which sea salt is obtained and includes salt pans, marshes, canes, dunes and wild beaches. Popular with bird watchers, it has a number of recommended routes and borders with the Mediterranean, the Mar Menor and its beaches, as well as the San Pedro del Pinatar mud baths, the baños de lodo.
This route begins at the Salinas Visitor Centre. Click for map, Salinas Visitor Centre
After visiting the centre, the route follows paths through the salinas down to the pinar de Cotillero, examining flora and fauna en-route.
The tour is in Spanish and is free of charge.
Please note: this tour is not suitable for those with limited mobility as it covers a distance of 2 kilometres during a two hour period.
