Over the coming days, the weather in Spain is in for some big changes, with widespread rain and a drop in temperature forecast. The damp will extend to Alicante province, albeit in brief enough spells, and some coastal breezes will make it feel much cooler than the weekend.

 

 

Monday will be sunny will lots of cloudy spells. This cloudiness will deepen inland towards the afternoon, when occasional showers and even the odd thunderstorm are likely.

 

Night-time temperatures are showing little change but the day-time temperatures should drop slightly across Alicante province. Light easterly winds will be more breezy along the coast.

 

A yellow rain warning has been activated inland from 2pm.

 

 

Tuesday will be partly cloudy with scattered thundery showers in northern coastal areas like Benidorm and Dénia. Day-time temperatures will fall by another degree or two.

 

Moderate north-easterly winds are forecast along the coast.

 

 

It will be more overcast on Wednesday with some sunny spells in southern Alicante. Occasional showers are forecast all morning along the coast, turning thundery inland during the afternoon.

 

Temperatures will remain largely unchanged and once again, the breezes will feel quite blustery along the southern coast.

 

 

Intervals of low clouds in the southern half of Alicante on Thursday and partly cloudy skies elsewhere. It will become more overcast as the days goes on inland, where there’s a possibility of thunderstorms.

 

Night-time temperatures will dip slightly but the mercury will climb at the height of the day, especially in northern Alicante.

 

Light, variable winds will tend to the east and southeast, with intervals of moderate intensity along the central coast.

• Wednesday July 9: Min 20ºC; Max 33ºC
