Alhama de Murcia joins in the carnival celebrations which are such an important part of the run-up to Easter with processions for both adults and children, as well as offering a costumed fancy dress party and children's fun spectacular.
Friday 21st February
16.00: Children's carnival procession. Departing from the Avenida de la Constitución following a route via Juan Carlos I, La Feria, Corredera, Rambla Don Diego, San Francisco Javier, Plaza del Nazareno, Constantino López, Constitución and concluding in the open-air municipal auditorium, where a free musical children’s show will take place around 6pm (18:00).
Sunday 23rd February
11.30: Carnival games for children, with bouncy castle, workshops and lots of fun in the Plaza de la Constitución. Come along in fancy dress!
Saturday 29th February
16.30: Main adult Carnival parade. Route: Avenida de la Constitución, Constantino López, Sierra Espuña, Isaac Albéniz, Molino, Rambla Don Diego, Corredera, La Feria, Juan Carlos I, and the Auditorio on Avenida de la Constitución.
Prize giving for the best floats and costumes at the Town Hall in Plaza de la Constitución after the parade.
Sunday 1st March
19.00: Seniors' Carnival Dance with music by the Trio Musical JEMA and prizes for the best costumes, at the Centro de Mayores.
