Rising temperatures and Saharan dust on the way: Alicante weather forecast July 30-August 2
After a few days of more comfortable weather, temperatures are set to climb again across Alicante Province, with inland areas feeling the heat first

The recent break from the intense heat is already starting to fade, with temperatures expected to climb steadily over the next few days. While the coast will continue to escape the worst of the heat, inland areas are expected to become increasingly hot as the weekend approaches.
Plenty of sunshine is in the forecast over the next few days, although some Saharan dust is expected to return on Friday. There is also a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms developing inland on Saturday.
Here's a day-by-day look at what you can expect.
Thursday July 30
Thursday will bring another sunny day across the province, with just a little early morning cloud along parts of the coast. Inland areas will continue to warm up, with Alcoy expected to reach 37°C, while Orihuela climbs to 35°C and Elche to 34°C. Along the coast, Alicante city should see a high of 31°C, with 32°C expected in Dénia.
Winds will stay light, becoming southerly through the afternoon, with some stronger gusts possible along the northern coast.
Friday July 31
Friday sees temperatures edge up another notch, particularly inland. Alcoy is forecast to reach 38°C, with 37°C in Orihuela, 35°C in Elche and 33°C in Dénia. Alicante city is expected to reach around 32°C. Skies will stay mostly clear, although some Saharan dust is expected to drift across the Province.
Light winds will become southerly during the day, with moderate breezes possible along the northern coastline.
Saturday August 1
Saturday is expected to be another hot day, with little change in temperatures across most of the Province. Sunshine will dominate, although some cloud could build over inland areas during the afternoon. There is a slight chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms developing inland later in the day, but many places are likely to stay dry.
Winds will remain light before turning south-easterly around midday.
Sunday August 2
The weekend ends with another largely sunny day across Alicante Province. Temperatures are expected to remain similar to Saturday, with highs of around 37°C in Alcoy and Orihuela, 34°C in Elche, 33°C in Dénia and 32°C in Alicante city. Some early cloud is possible along the coast, while light south-easterly winds will develop through the afternoon.
While Alicante Province looks set to avoid the worst of Spain's fourth heatwave of the summer, it will still be hot, particularly inland where temperatures are expected to reach the high 30s.No heat alerts have been issued but forecasts can change, so it's always a good idea to check the latest updates from Aemet and your local authorities.

Friday July 31: Min 22ºC; Max 38ºC
