Alhama de Murcia Town Hall is planning an 'Open Air Speed Painting Competition' on August 8, within the programme of village fiesta celebrations in Gebas, in the Sierra Espuña which are scheduled to take place between August 7 and 15.
The competition gives contestants a chance to show off their artistic skills as they are tasked with painting identifiable buildings, houses and façades within the Gebas area - for the chance of winning the grand prize of 400 euros.
Painting by photos or using images via phones will not be allowed and all work must be done 'in situ' at the Gebas social centre, starting from 9 am. The artists must present their work between 5 - 6 pm and all works submitted will remain on display as part of the exhibition until August 15.
Entries can be made until Friday, August 6 at 2 pm at 'Tienda Catalina', located at c/ Espronceda 17, Alhama de Murcia and on the day of the competition at the Gebas social centre.
Anyone can participate in the competition, which will take place whatever the weather, with prizes ranging from 150 to 400 euros.
