October 3-13 Paulaner Oktoberfest in Murcia with German food trucks, veggie options and more

Murcia has been chosen by Paulaner Oktoberfest as the home of the official German beer festival. The city will reproduce this German tradition by becoming the beer capital for 11 days at the large open-air venue of the Jardín Chino from October 3 to 13.

As a tribute to the official beer of the German festival, visitors will be offered the most popular varieties in the Bavarian city, served by waiters in traditional Bavarian costumes and in litre mugs as tradition dictates. Visitors will also have the choice of 0.0% alcohol or gluten-free alternative.

Also at the festival, there will be food trucks (6 in total) where you can try typical Bavarian food such as pretzels, different types of sausages, pork knuckle, apple pie apfelstrudel and vegetarian and gluten-free options.

All of the festivities will be accompanied by an extensive programme of entertainment, such as the traditional mug raising in which the public can take part.

The fun will begin next Thursday October 3 at 6pm with the opening of the first keg of beer. This will mark the beginning of a gastronomic and leisure event that is expected to attract numerous Murcians and tourists during the first fortnight of October.

The venue will be carefully staged with artificial grass, lights, plant decorations, long tables and German-style benches. DJs will be present every day with a mix of musical genres. There will also be games and entertaining activities to liven up the beer festivities.

Admission is free and the festival will be open from Monday to Thursday from 6pm to 1am and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 1am.
