Murcia weather forecast October 19-22: Yellow weather warnings as rain continues after weekend storms
AEMET warns of further heavy showers in parts of the Region on Monday after a weekend of flooding, with temperatures set to climb back to 26°C from Tuesday

The Region of Murcia is facing another day of unsettled weather on Monday October 19, with a yellow weather warning for rain still in place after a weekend of thunderstorms, torrential downpours and flooding. AEMET is forecasting further showers, which could be particularly heavy along the coast during the first half of the day, while another yellow warning is in place for the north-west of the Region this afternoon. Let's take a look at the daily breakdown:
Monday October 19
It's a grey start to the week in the Region of Murcia, with cloudy skies and further showers on the forecast. AEMET warns that rain could be locally very heavy and persistent along the coast during the first half of the day, with thunderstorms also possible. The Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón remain under a yellow warning for rain until midday, while the north-west of the Region faces another yellow warning from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
A yellow alert is the lowest of AEMET's three warning levels, but it does not mean there is no danger. Heavy downpours can cause localised flooding, particularly around low-lying roads and waterways.
Temperatures will also be noticeably lower than last week, with highs of 23°C in Cartagena, 21°C in Murcia city and Lorca, 18°C in Caravaca de la Cruz and just 16°C in Yecla.
Tuesday October 20
Things should start looking up on Tuesday, with a mixture of cloud and brighter spells expected across the Region. AEMET cannot rule out the odd light shower, but the general picture is much drier, with temperatures climbing again.
Murcia city could reach 26°C, while Cartagena and Lorca are forecast to hit 25°C. Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla should see highs of 23°C.
Mornings will be a different story, especially inland. Minimum temperatures are forecast to drop to just 8°C in both Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla, so there will be a big difference between the early-morning chill and the warmer afternoon.
Wednesday October 21
Wednesday looks brighter, with mostly clear skies forecast across the Region and little change in daytime temperatures. After the weekend's downpours and Monday's lingering showers, it should feel much more settled.
Murcia city and Cartagena could both reach 25°C, while Lorca is expected to see a high of 23°C. Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla should reach 22°C.
The main thing to watch will be the overnight temperatures. Caravaca de la Cruz could drop to just 5°C, while Yecla is forecast to fall to 9°C. It may be warm enough to enjoy lunch outdoors, but early starts will feel much cooler inland.
Thursday October 22
Thursday is expected to remain largely dry, with some cloud passing over the Region. Temperatures are forecast to remain similar or fall slightly, depending on the area, and winds should generally be light.
Cartagena and Murcia city could reach 25°C, while Lorca is forecast to reach 22°C. Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla should also see highs of 22°C. Minimum temperatures will range from 6°C in Yecla and 7°C in Caravaca de la Cruz to 15°C in Cartagena. Murcia city is forecast to fall to 12°C overnight.
Keep an eye on AEMET's latest weather updates, particularly while yellow warnings remain in place and conditions can change quickly. And with overnight temperatures dropping into single figures in some inland areas, it might finally be time to get the duvet back on the bed!
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Region of Murcia this week:

Monday October 19: Min 9; Max 23°C
Tuesday October 20: Min 8; Max 26°C
Wednesday October 21: Min 5; Max 25°C
Thursday October 22: Min 6; Max 25°C
