Murcia begins the week with 6 red flags as sea conditions turn rough
La Manga has a complete swimming ban while beaches in Águilas Cartagena Lorca San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar are under yellow warnings

Anyone heading to the beaches of the Region of Murcia this week should check the flags before getting into the water, with rough sea conditions forecast for the next few days.
This has led to six red flags and 21 yellow flags being hoisted along the coast on Monday August 17.
The six red flags are all in La Manga, where swimming has been banned because conditions are considered dangerous. The affected beaches are Banco del Tabal, El Arenal I, El Arenal II, Pedrucho I, Pedrucho II and Pedrucho III.
Yellow flags are also flying at beaches in Águilas, Cartagena, Lorca, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar, meaning that swimming is still allowed but bathers need to take extra care.
In Águilas, the warnings cover Calarreona, La Cabaña, La Carolina, La Higuerica, Matalentisco, Poniente I and Poniente II.
Cartagena has yellow flags at Calblanque, Entremares, Galúa, Monte Blanco-Calnegre and Sirenas, while Lorca has warnings at Parazuelos and Puntas de Calnegre.
In San Javier, the warning currently applies to Estacio South. San Pedro del Pinatar has yellow flags at Barraca Quemada, El Mojón, Las Salinas, Punta de Algas and Torre Derribada.
The only coastal areas in the Region currently without these warnings are Mazarrón, La Unión and Los Alcázares.
A red flag means swimming is prohibited because conditions pose a serious risk to bathers. Anyone ignoring the ban could put themselves and lifeguards at risk.
A yellow flag means swimming isn’t banned, but conditions require caution. Bathers are advised to stay close to the shore, follow lifeguard instructions and keep a close eye on any changes in sea conditions.
