11:30. Free guided tour of the old quarter of Mula (meeting point Convento de San Francisco. NB. Commentary in Spanish
20:00.Presentation of the image selected to portray the 5th anniversary of the construction of Lorca castle. Taking place in the Convent of san Francisco.
Sunday 17th November:
09:00 XIII CONCURSO NACIONAL DE PINTURA AL AIRE LIBRE “CIUDAD DE MULA”
On Sunday 17th November the north-western hilltop town of Mula is hosting its annual open air painting competition, the subject being Mula and its historic old quarter.
The Mula old quarter is full of picturesque corners and imposing buildings, providing a wealth of material for participating artists who must paint what they see in situ.
Anyone is welcome to enter and the entries can be in any medium. The works must be painted on the day and in the open-air. Registration takes place on the morning of the competition, between 9am and 11am in the Convento de San Francisco alongside the Tourist Office where blank canvases will be recorded and stamped.
The finished works must be handed in at the convento between 4pm and 5pm.
The results will be made public at 7.30pm, and canvases which don´t win a prize can be put on sale to the public at that point.
All works winning prizes remain the property of the council.
10:00 onwards: Mula artisan market "El Portón de la Placeta" in the Plaza del Hospital alongside the municipal library.
10.30 Free guided tour of the Roman Villa site of Villaricos. prior booking required via the tourist office.
12:00. Free children's painting workshop in the artisan market
