ARCHIVED - Military tracers begin work in Murcia Region
30 coronavirus tracers have been allocated to the Murcia Region
Catalonia, the Basque Country, Extremadura and La Rioja are the only autonomous communities that have not requested tracers from the Ministry of Defense to collaborate in tracking potential coronavirus positives by joining tracing teams in the 17 autonomous regions of Spain.
The national Government originally announced that 2,000 members of the Armed Forces would be made available to the 17 autonomous communities- a figure that was increased to 2,795 last Tuesday due to the demand- to join their local virus tracking teams.
This week the tracers have begun work, working telephonically from several central points to help in the work being undertaken by the regional health authorities.
There are 30 tracers allocated to the Murcia region from the Third Battalion of Emergency Intervention (BIEM III) who are working from their headquarters at the Jaime I base in Bétera, in Valencia, working in collaboration with the regional health service tracers.
