March 7-23 Patron Saint fiestas in Roldán
The Torre Pacheco town will host a 2 week-long celebration with lots of family entertainment

The town of Roldan in Torre Pacheco will come alive with a 2 week-long celebration in honour of its patron saint. Celebrations started last Saturday, March 1 with the Lo Ferro Flamenco Gala, setting the tone for a jam-packed schedule between March 7 and 23.
Here’s what you can expect:
Friday March 7:
Cannon sacrifice Fluor party at 10.30pm.
Club presentation.
Election of the Mister and Miss Peñas.
Saturday March 8:
Gala for the Fiesta Queen election with a special orchestra performance at 10.30pm.
Midnight: Election of the Queen of the Festival, Maids of Honour and Children's Misses, all in the festival tent.
Start of the 24hour indoor football tournament at the Don José Armero Tovar Pavilion.
Sunday March 9:
Interclub road cycling test at 10am and an exciting exhibition of radio-controlled scale cars, trucks and machinery at the Roldán Radio Control Circuit.
7pm: Final of the 24hr football tournament.
Monday March 10:
Senior Citizen’s Centre gala dance starting at 4.30pm.
Coronation of the Queen and her Ladies at the Senior Citizen’s Centre at 5.30pm.
Wednesday March 12
Kiddie’s afternoon with special prizes for all attendees.
Thursday March 13
Women’s Defence Association Day starting at 10.30am with breakfast and lunch
Mass with the Administration of the Sacrament of theUnion of the Sick, at the Roldán day centre at 11.30am
Charity raffle with gifts and surprises at 4pm. Location: Sebastian Escudero Cultural Centre

Friday March 14
12pm Mass in honour of Saint Joseph
Lunch at the Roldán Housewives Association at 1.30pm in the Torre Pacheco Tennis Club Restaurant
Saturday March 15
Eucharist of the Brotherhood of the Knights of San Jose at 7pm
Appointment of new members of the Brotherhood
Coronation of the Queen at 10.30pm followed by a Coronation Gala, with special performance by Voulez Vous, the ABBA tribute group. Location: Festival Tent
The party will continue with local DJ Vicen López
Sunday March 16
Brotherhood of the Knights of San Jose lunch at 2pm in the Festival Tent
Monday March 17
Roldán Women’s Defence Association afternoon
4pm Walking ribbon race for women
At 5pm, bring some food and enjoy a pot luck meal together at the Sebastian Escudero Theatre

Tuesday March 18
Mass at 7pm – donations of non-perishable food items welcomed in aid of Caritas Torre Pacheco
“Crazy Night” begins at 11pm in the Festival Tent with a performance by Los Happys
Hot chocolate party organised by the La Francachela club
Wednesday March 19
8am Traditional bell ringing followed by a 9am Eucharist for all the deceased of the town
9.30am Parade with brass band
Solemn Eucharist in honour of the patron saint at 7pm
March 20, 21, 22 and 23
Oasis Sport paddle tournament
Saturday March 22
Inter-club volleyball championship from 4pm at the Don José Armero Tovar Pavilion
Lo Ferro Flamenco Gala at 8pm in the Sebastian Escudero Cultural Centre
Sunday March 23
Fun run – t-shirts and gift bags can be collected from 10am and the race starts in Gabriel Pérez Pavilion at 11am
Tapas for all at 1pm followed by lots of musical entertainment, raffles and surprises from 4pm.
