The mediaeval castle which dominates the skyline of Alhama de Murcia can be visited by joining one of the regular monthly guided tours offered by the Tourist Information Office.
The castle is only open for visitors via these special guided tours.
All tours depart at 11.00 from the archaeological museum.
The tours cost 2 euros for children and 3 for adults and must be booked in advance at the Archaeological Museum, Los Baños, from where the tour departs at 11am or the tourist information office in Alhama de Murcia.
It’s a good walk up to the castle, so wear strong shoes, and a stick is recommended if you have one as it’s quite steep near to the top.
The tour starts in the gardens of the Los Baños Archaeological Museum and lasts for one and a half hours.
