ARCHIVED - Current Covid restrictions in Murcia: no limit on customers per table
The relaxed restrictions come into effect from October 6 in the Region of Murcia
Following a large decrease in Covid cases in the Region of Murcia, with the latest update reporting just 22 cases in 24 hours, the regional government has decided to ease restrictions even further.
The new rules affect mainly the hospitality sector, although other non-essential businesses will also benefit from Wednesday October 6, when the mandatory closing time is moved back to 4am, meaning that businesses have to close for two hours between 4am and 6am.
In addition, bars and restaurants will no longer have a maximum number of customers per table or a maximum number of customers per business, instead, there will be a 75% indoor occupancy limit for bars and restaurants in areas which are at alert level 1. Meanwhile, the outdoor limit is 100% for all municipalities regardless of their alert level. This same rule was brought in for large events and public gatherings last week.
However, municipalities in alert level 3 and 4 will have their maximum indoor occupancy limited to 50 and 30%, respectively. At the moment, only four out of the 45 municipalities in Murcia are in alert level 3 and will therefore be affected by the 50% rule: Lorca, Cehegín, Lorquí and Santomera.
