ARCHIVED - Clouds clearing gradually in Murcia as the gota fría recedes on Wednesday afternoon
Blue skies expected to return to the Costa Cálida for the long holiday weekend
After the heavy rain of Monday night and Tuesday brought flooding to towns on the coast of the Mar Menor all weather alerts have now been lifted in the Region of Murcia and the Aemet forecast is for conditions to improve gradually over the rest of the week.
During Wednesday afternoon the cloud cover will gradually lighten and the sun may even put in an appearance, and while maximum temperatures are likely to be higher than on Tuesday the difference will be only slight: those in the Costa Cálida are used to being spoilt in terms of the weather, and while afternoon highs of 12 degrees in Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla, 14 in Lorca and 16 or 17 in Cartagena in Murcia may make readers in northern Europe jealous they could be a disappointment for people in Murcia.
The forecast for Thursday is very similar and then there may be light showers on Friday morning as a long holiday weekend gets under way. However, for the rest of the weekend the outlook is fine and temperatures could climb back up to 20 degrees!
