article_detailDate Published: 18/06/2020ARCHIVED ARTICLEARCHIVED - Cartagena continues to re-open outlying medical consultorios
The town hall stresses the need to pre-book appointments in order to minimise the risk
Re-opening the large number of outlying medical consultorios in the Cartagena municipality has been a rather long-winded affair due principally to the need to adapt the installations to the new post-Covid “normal”, installing screens and ensuring hygiene measures can be applied to protect both patients and medical staff. As a result of this, the re-opening of the consultorios in the outlying areas has been progressive. All of the larger health centres, the centros de salud, have re-opened and are working as normal, the smaller consultorios in Canteras and Cuesta Blanca, La Aljorra, Polígono de Santa Ana, Miranda, Los Nietos, Los Belones, Cabo de Palos, La Puebla, La Aparecida, La Palma and el Albujón, have already re-opened.The council now say that Isla Plana, los Puertos de Santa Bárbara, Perín, Tallante, Los Urrutias, El Llano del Beal and Alumbres will re-open in the next few days on a progressive basis. The council has stressed the need to book appointments either online via the Murcian Health Service website (Click for Cita previa), by calling 968 228 250 (Spanish language 24 hour booking) or through the portal del paciente (again, via murciasalud.es), registration for which requires an electronic signature.A great effort is being made to try and minimise the number of people physically going to the doctor’s surgeries and to minimise the risk to the elderly population, many of whom use these outlying facilities using telephone diagnosis and pre-qualifying visits to the surgery, as often appointments are made simply to ask for a repeat prescription. If you require repeat prescriptions these can be obtained via your normal pharmacy for the moment.
