15 local establishments are participating in this year's Alhama de Tapas y Cócteles

Alhama de Murcia will host its sixth tapas and cocktail route from March 25 to April 3 with 15 local establishments offering locals and visitors the chance to sample a tapa plus drink and a cocktail or sweet for just three euros.

This year there are a couple of novelties, the first being that some of the participating bars and restaurants are offering a dessert instead of a cocktail, and the second is that for the first time, the winning establishment will be decided exclusively by the public.

As in previous years, a route map can be collected from the hostelries, or the tourist information centre, which outlines all of the places taking part. The map can be used to select tapas and cocktails, which must then be stamped, and includes a scoring card to rate the dish/cocktails on a scale of 1-5, with five being the highest.

All completed route maps can be deposited at the local establishments, tourist information office or the Training and Employment Centre before April 5. They will duly be entered into a prize draw with the chance to win an iPhone 13 as first prize with lots of ham and cheese as second and third prizes.

The prize draw will be held on Friday April 8 at 12 noon in the Town Hall. Once the draw has been made, the winners will be contacted by telephone.

El Rincón Brewery (La pajarica - dish based on eggplant)
El Laurel (Croqueta de brandada de bacalao - cod croquette)
Lolo (Rompecolchón - mixed seafood dish)
Ambigú (Trenza de espárragos - asparagus)
Ana Belén House (Solomillo Escocia - Scottish sirloin steak)
Restaurant Marquicos (Canelón de mar - sea cannelloni)
Venta Don Jamón (Ternera a la mantequilla con chimichurri - beef with butter)
Toti II Bar (Ventresca a la mostaza - tuna with mustard)
