ARCHIVED - Archena and Lorca both exceeded 38 degrees on Tuesday
Andalusia was hottest place in Spain with 43 degrees
It certainly felt hot yesterday and it was!
Archena ended up as the regional victor on Tuesday with 38.4 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Lorca at 38.3, Alhama de Murcia at 37.8, Murcia City at 37.6 and Calasparra at 37.6.
It’s interesting to note the minimums, as the LOWEST minimum during the whole of the 24 hour period was in Caravaca de la Cruz with15.2 degrees, and in many areas minimums remained stubbornly ABOVE 20 degrees. The Mar Menor area, Cartagena, Águilas,Mazarrón, Murcia city and the Ricote valley all spent a sleepless night at 20 degrees plus.
35 degrees in the Canary Islands at 5am
Pity the residents of las Palmas in the Canary Islands and those in Andalusia; the early morning readings of Aemet showed it was still 35.5 degrees in Las Palmas at ten past five this morning and in Sevilla at midnight it was still registering 34.9 degrees Celsius!!!! That’s a tropical night and some!!!!
Andalusia hottest place in Spain yesterday
Andalusia was again the hottest place in Spain on Tuesday with 43 degrees
Sevilla (Écija)topped the hot charts yesterday with 43 degrees, followed by 42.4 in Huelva and 42.2 in la Roda de Andalucía, also in the Sevilla province. All of the ten hottest places in Spain were in Sebvilla, Huelva, Cádiz and Córdoba, all in Andalucía.
