ARCHIVED - Andalusia locals aged between 57 and 59 can now request a Covid vaccine appointment
Those aged between 57 to 59 are being encouraged to book their vaccine appointment in Andalusia.
After Andalusia last week announced residents aged over 68 can contact health services directly to book their vaccine, officials are now offering the same service to anyone born in 1962, 1963, and 1964.
Vaccines can now be booked by those aged 57 to 59 and over 68 online at the Andalusian Health Service's website at https://www.sspa.juntadeandalucia.es/servicioandaluzdesalud/clicsalud/, through the Salude Responde mobile app and by the Salud Responde phone number on 955 54 50 60. Appointments can also be made at local health centres.
The number of appointments will depend on available doses, according to the Junta de Andalusia, and will be offered regardless of whether a resident has state or private health cover.
Those who are already ill with the virus or are in quarantine will not be able to make an appointment directly, while second doses also cannot be booked using Andalusia’s new service.
Andalusia’s vaccine rollout is currently administering doses to those aged over 60, as well as trying to find any over 70s who have not yet received their jab.
This week, the region expects to receive 593,260 doses, including 278,460 from Pfizer, 33,500 from Moderna, and 281,300 from AstraZeneca and will this week beat its own vaccination record, administering over 600,000 doses.
More than 30 per cent of the residents of the region have now been given a first dose, with over three million doses administered.
