Andalucía weekly weather forecast February 2-5: Repeated bouts of rain, strong winds and some milder air
Cloudy, wet and blustery conditions dominate with storms in the west and coastal warnings
Wet and windy Atlantic weather stays in charge across Andalucía this week, with plenty of cloud, frequent rain and some very gusty spells, especially near the coasts and higher ground. Temperatures are not especially cold for early February, but it will often feel raw in the wind and rain, with the brighter breaks offering the best moments of the day.Monday February 2
Andalucía weather forecast, Monday February 2Very cloudy skies bring bands of rain from west to east, turning heavy at times in the western half with a risk of thunderstorms. Yellow warnings are in force for heavy rain and storms in parts of Huelva, Cádiz and Seville. Westerly winds are light to moderate inland but strong along the coast. Minimum temperatures hold steady or edge up, while daytime highs slip back, and there may still be a touch of frost over higher eastern sierras near Granada.
Tuesday February 3
Andalucía weather forecast, Tuesday February 3Skies remain overcast with moderate rain for many areas, locally heavy and persistent around the Strait of Gibraltar and along the Mediterranean side. Temperatures ease down a little, with light frosts still possible in eastern uplands near Jaén. Westerly winds are light to moderate inland but can be strong with very strong gusts through the Strait and along exposed Atlantic coasts, and a yellow coastal warning is expected for parts of Almería in the afternoon.
Wednesday February 4
Andalucía weather forecast, Wednesday February 4Cloudy skies continue with further moderate rain, again locally heavy and persistent at times. Despite the soggy picture, temperatures start to rise and it could feel noticeably milder, with highs up towards 19 degrees around Málaga. Any early frost in the eastern high ground soon disappears. Westerly winds blow light to moderate inland, while the coast and higher spots near Córdoba see moderate to strong winds with occasional very strong gusts.
Thursday February 5
Andalucía weather forecast, Thursday February 5Cloud and rain remain the main theme, with further moderate falls and heavier, more persistent downpours likely near the Strait of Gibraltar around Tarifa and in some north-eastern hillier zones towards Granada. Temperatures climb in the eastern half of Andalucía, while staying much the same elsewhere. Westerly winds are light to moderate inland and moderate to strong along the coast and at higher elevations, with very strong gusts in exposed areas.
Overall, it is a continuing unsettled Atlantic week, so umbrellas and waterproofs will earn their keep, even as temperatures slowly edge up as we move further into February.
