ARCHIVED - Alhama de Murcia was hottest place in Murcia on Sunday with 35 degrees
This was almost 5 degrees lower than temperatures in parts of Andalucía yesterday.
It certainly felt like the first real day of summer on Sunday, temperatures obviously back to the levels more typical of this time of year and the official stats from Aemet confirm that most of the region recorded temperatures well over 30 degrees on Sunday.
Alhama de Murcia topped the list with 35.7 degrees Celsius, then Jumilla in the far north was in second place with 35.3.
Night-time minimums were low and comfortable, falling as low as 14 degrees in Caravaca de la Cruz and averaging 15 elsewhere.
However, Murcia missed the hottest weather which was in Andalucía where all of the hottest temperatures for Sunday were recorded; Sevilla with 39.5, Córdoba 38.6 and Jaén 38.5.
It’s interesting to see that the minimums nationally were lowest in the areas most heavily hit by Covid at the moment, Zamora in Aragón a name we’ve seen a lot of in the last few days as it’s the centre of a major outbreak and is back down in phase 2, the coldest area of the country with just 6.7 overnight, still pretty cool.
