A mild earthquake was felt in Cieza in the early hours of Wednesday morning, May 6. The tremor, which measured 2.2 in magnitude, occurred at 1:38am with its epicentre located 13 kilometres below the surface, according to Spain's National Geographic Institute.
There was further seismic activity across the Region of Murcia overnight. A few hours later, at 4:55am, another tremor measuring 1.5 magnitude was recorded between Alhama de Murcia and Totana, at a depth of just one kilometre.
